2009-10 Winners

2009-10 Theme - “Beauty Is”

And the winners are...

The results are in and our school winners are listed below, so please congratulate the students if you see them! Winners from Edison School, and all participating Alameda schools, are being displayed at the Main Branch of the Alameda Library December 1st through December 16th, with a Reflections Awards Ceremony on the 13th. At the Awards Ceremony, the students who went on to win at the city level will be announced and their artwork will go on to compete at the Peralta District level so please come to the library to cheer them on and view some amazing art!

All of the judging is completely blind and all judges are picked from outside the Edison community. This is done so the competition stays true, honest and fair for all students. As you'll see below, there are two winners, not a first and second place, at each level. The Primary level is Kindergarten – Second and the Intermediate level is Third – Fifth. Big thanks to the many volunteers who helped at the Wednesday Art Clinics and to my extremely patient co-chairs Katie and Renee. I couldn't have done it without them! We'll hold an assembly at the end of the year to recognize all the participating students so watch for upcoming information on-line and in the Edison Express.

Sincerely,

Katie Sutphin, Renee McCracken & Judy Judy
